Artisan products that help heal Mother Earth and bring ease to a green lifestyle.
Troy Walsh was that five-year-old in 2006 when he started his business. His continued focus, drive, and hard work turned his ambitions into a family business now called Chickapea Farms. These ambitions have laid a green path he will walk well into his future.
At Chickapea Farms, there is no division between business and personal life. We live and work dedicated to being stewards of the planet, building a like-minded community through education, and offering well-researched, pure, and, honest products.
We continually practice Eco-friendly Lifecycle Management: starting with the resources providing raw materials to the disposal of our products, we take pride each step, start to finish, is researched and focused on being eco-friendly for our products.
We love that Chickapea Farms' products allow us to meet many people who share our passion for healing Mother Earth.
We consider you all part of our green family and are always excited to hear from you. Working together, we can make an eco-friendly impact.
Chickapea Farms is located in the wilderness of Northern Michigan. Our artisan products reflect our connection to and love for nature, and, heart-felt care that our consumers are fully satisfied.
We have taken great pride in maintaining age-old Artisan values and traditions with no compromise in quantity. We honestly bring a product to market worth the consumer's hard earned money.
So as not to harm Mother Earth, we consciously focus on using the most renewable resources and greenest processes to keep a low carbon footprint from start to finish for each of our product's existence.
We believe in local supporting local. We buy local. We sell local. If not harvested from our own land, then we scrutinize sources in the sequence of: our home area within Michigan, the rest of Michigan, the Midwest.
In making our products, there is no out-sourcing or mass-production machinery; just hands on, strong backbones and a lot of elbow grease to create durable, high quality, green products and packaging.
We source from Michigan farms that are conscious of their carbon footprint, have ethical practices, and prioritize animal welfare and humane care for their livestock, treating them as beloved pets. All are also no-kill farms.
We strive to eliminate plastic and fossil fuel materials from our products and their packaging, and take the extra steps so our products and packaging can be compostable, and if not, repurposable.
Even though Troy calls on his friends, family and mentors for help, he's always at the helm of Chickapea Farms, leading with love in his heart, quality on his mind! We thank you for walking a green path with us.
We celebrate the remarkable life and unwavering spirit of Annemarie, who fearlessly battled breast cancer for two decades. From that spirit and determination, in her memory, we have curated these special kits to offer comfort and support to individuals on their cancer journey. With the comfort provided through the kit's products, Annemarie would remind you that you too are a warrior and are not alone on this journey, that her spirit also walks with you and encourages you "Never give in - Never give up!".
After meeting so many farmers during his journey with Chickapea Farms, and helping admin the FB group "Shop Michigan Farms", Troy wanted to do more to help link farmers with their communities. That's how "Mi Farm Network" started. We strive to bring Michigan farms together with their communities for the greater good, education and, ability for farm-direct product purchases. Please tell those you know about Mi Farm Network and help plant seeds of growth within your community.
